"Stress Relief for the Working Stiff, How to reverse the embalming effect"

By Carol Denbow

Sneak Peak.......

Introduction

Do you sometimes feel completely burned out with nothing left to give? Do you suffer from stress due to work, health, family, school, or some other seemingly endless challenge in your life? The accumulation of each of our little daily stressors over our lifetime can negatively affect our long-term mental and physical health. It is estimated that as many as 80 percent of physician visits may be stress-related. Without knowing how to reduce stress, we leave ourselves susceptible to life-threatening illness, disease, and just plain unhappiness.

Technology is here to make our lives simpler, yet many of the new technological breakthroughs have actually added tremendous amounts of stress to our lives. The eight-hour day has become obsolete, and with cell phones, PDAs, and computers we are continually connected to our jobs. Our free time to relax has been squeezed out. Without the necessary free time to recuperate from our busy days, we become stressed.

With time contributing to our stress levels, quick relief needs to be a priority. This book will help you learn many of the “instant” relief techniques used for all types of people in a number of different situations. You will learn how to adjust your schedule, lifestyle, and attitude to better cope with stressful situations.

Stress Relief for the Working Stiff will help you understand why you are susceptible to stress, what the stress does to you physically and mentally, how to repair issues which cause you stress, and how to get relief now and for the long term.

I wish you peace, serenity, and a stress-free life.

All of us have the dream and latent desire to have our own business someday. Will your dream be just another fantasy or will it become a reality? Carol Denbow provides you a touchstone for your dream in "Are You Ready to Be Your Own Boss?" She tells you everything that you need to know before making the crucial decision on whether to start you own business.

Carol is a very talented writer and a successful business owner herself. She can explains complicated business issues in plain and simple English. Here are some examples of her fine writing:

"The myth is, there will be lots of customers knocking down the door to get in.

The truth is, customers never forget who they like and trust, and they'll be faithful to that."

"...Be honest with your customers right from the start. That will be the only way to keep them for the long haul. Dishonest business very rarely succeed for any long period of time..."

Some people said to start your own business is like flying a airplane, you need to go through the difficult take-off period and gain a certain altitude before you before you can cruise and enjoy the flight. "Are You Ready to Be Your Own Boss?" covers critical factors that you need to know or should know before starting your business, including your odds of making it, choosing your business, what it will take, what to do when disaster strikes, how long will it take and being the boss, etc.

"Are You Ready to Be Your Own Boss?" has 144 pages. It is a non-fiction but it is extremely well written and packed with useful information. I found it very hard to put down once I started reading (That rarely happens to me when I read a non-fiction). It is a touchstone for your dream of becoming a business owner. It is a must-have if you intend to start your own business!

WOW!!! On a scale of 1-10 this book is a 10. If you want to be your own boss, then this book should be a must for you. Carol has used a simple way of explaining how to successfully run your business.

Are You Ready to Be Your Own Boss? is truly a gem. Carol Denbow brings out many of the pitfalls and rewards to owning your own business and taking responsibility for your destiny. Difficult? Absolutely. Worth the effort? That's up to you. Some hidden gems I found in her writing…

Start with a business plan!

Make a chart to remind yourself daily of your business plan

Survival factors of new businesses include the owner's age, higher education, and previous experience in their field, with most business owners between 35 and 64, having 10 to 19 years of work experience prior to self employment

To help you choose a business, make a list of your hobbies and interests, and then list all the possible ways you can make money with those hobbies/interests

Make sure you are overstaffed and over prepared – your first impression will be a long lasting one

Do at least a business plan and get legal council before signing any contracts or leases

There will be "impossible-to-deal-with" customers – when they leave you, be glad and let them go

Most businesses will not show any profit for at least the first year, and the average time is around three years

Don't be in a hurry

This book is filled with valuable personal insight, experience, and advice. Pick up a copy, read it, highlight it (I did mine!), make notes, and tell your friends. They will want their own copy
